Winter RV & Boat Storage in Rexburg, Idaho

When the boats come off Island Park Reservoir and the last camping weekends wind down, the same question comes up every fall: where does the RV or boat go until spring? Rexburg winters are long and cold, and a rig left in the driveway takes a beating from snow load, freezing temperatures and rodents looking for a warm spot. Here is how to think about winter storage in our area, and what we offer at Elite Storage.

Why winter storage matters in Eastern Idaho

A Rexburg winter is hard on anything parked outside. Snow piles up on roofs and slide-outs, freezing temperatures crack undrained water lines, and mice move in when the cold sets in. An RV or boat that goes into storage clean, dry and winterized comes out in spring ready for the season instead of needing repairs first.

Winter storage options at Elite Storage

Our facility is at 1044 N 2nd E in Rexburg, just off Highway 20, about an hour from Island Park. For winter storage you can choose from:

  • Enclosed units for boats on trailers, motorhomes and travel trailers. The Large Enclosed (12 x 30) takes smaller rigs, and Drive Through units up to 14 x 60 handle the big ones, with access from both ends.
  • Covered RV spaces (12 x 40) that keep snow and ice off the roof all winter.
  • Units with 10 amp power so you can keep a battery on a trickle charger instead of finding it dead in April.

Every option comes with 24/7 gate access using your own gate code, a fully fenced property with cameras, and LED lighting throughout, so you can get to your rig any time, even on short winter days.

Get your RV or boat ready first

Storage works best when the rig goes in prepared. Drain the water system, stabilize the fuel, take care of the batteries, and clean everything inside and out so pests have nothing to come for. Our full checklist is in Preparing Your RV for Winter Storage on the blog.

Store the RV, ride the sleds

Winter in Island Park is not the off-season for everyone. Snowmobile season runs roughly December through March, and a lot of our winter tenants store the RV or boat with us and come back up for the sleds. If you are hauling a snowmobile trailer, our Snowmobile, ATV & UTV Storage post covers what fits where, including 4-place trailers.

Reserve before the first storm

Covered and powered spaces go first every fall. You can check sizes and current rates and rent online in less than 10 minutes on our Available Storage Units page, or call (208) 656-5855. Rentals are month to month after your first term, with no deposit and no admin fees, so you can store for exactly the months you need and take the rig home in spring.
